A with the clarinet
A finally got his clarinet and the first bit of instruction in playing it last week. He seems to be enjoying it so far, though his says they have only learned to play 2 notes.
We had an "instrument fair" after school, with the band director and a buncha different instruments available for trying out. Flutes, clarinets, trombones, trumpets, something percussiony. And then the local music stores to rent from. The band director was coordinating the woodwinds and tracking who was playing what.
M tried the flute, clarinet, and trombone, and decided that the clarinet was her thing.
I forgot how squeaky they are, especially at first...

I'm impressed M got her instrument so soon after school started - they took a full month here to sort the kids into which instruments they would play.
